Literature Text

Arriving late to the city which is bathed in life
Life is light here even at this late hour
The sky is lined with buildings which reach
Further then my eyes had yet to conceive
The air smells different here, breathing brings joy
Spilled from the bus to lit street devoid of traffic
Joining the hotel the room before moving to eat
At early hours a meal long yet coming and tastes
Of liberation from this previous life
Morning light with heat which wavers in the world
A city on the edge of a lake a breeze to my very soul
Nothing is like this from my life, the view from the tower
Shows this realm which I feel should belong to me
The people, the places the feel of the city a week
Is not enough, to leave is to rip myself apart
Time is not enough to explore it all, Yonge street
Stretches into distances unimagined to my space
Downtown is to be my space, with bars and shops
Days Inn to be my home, from which each morning
Born into new earthly pleasure we emerge to cross the street
To Golden Girdles doors, from forth we plan our leisure days
Which stretch to leisure nights, Pleasure from being here
Being part of something where we feel safe at home, here so far
From what it is we had learnt to know as home.  The day to the falls
Which stunned my senses left me speechless
At rushing water fall
That which filled my vision and my dreams
A life less travelled with my baggage
That would fill my world with gloom
Here forgotten
Here transformed
To something else
Another me
Happy
In this other world
My city
That takes my breath like new found love
I will return I know this much
I will return to my world for now
But wait for me in yellow light
Light which is life
Wait for me
In yellow sun rich life
Poem about Toronto a city I adore
